The Deathly Hallows.

So, 10 years ago, we started the amazing journey of the Harry Potter films and 10 years have past and the final installment of the most amazing epic saga has finally ended (to my disappointment). I've been with Harry since I was in Primary 4/5 (Around, 9 years old?) and I'm now 20.. I am so glad that I've had the opportunity to have Harry Potter as part of my childhood. In my generation.

Anyways, yesterday, went to watch a 1.00pm screening of The Deathly Hallows Part 2 with a whole bunch of people, after having a really satisfying and enjoyable brunch at I-Lotus (nomz). I must say, I wasn't dissapointed with the film. Like, in the past years, you can read in my old posts, I would be typing in rage just about now, about how incorrect the film was, how it didn't follow the books etc etc Plus, this movie was only 2hrs and 10 minutes long! Making it the shortest Harry Potter film ever.

I had two things that they had to get right in this film:
1) Telling Snape's story correctly.
2) The chapter between Harry Potter and Dumbledore at King's Cross.

Fortunately enough, the film managed to capture the essence of both and didn't leave out my favourite lines. So, I am content. Some parts of the movie (i.e both scenes above, when the showed Fred, Lupin, and Tonk's death (imo, they deserved to have a more honourable death instead of just having them lying found dead), I sobbed whenever I saw Hogwarts being attacked.. Ack, I was so friggin' emotional, finished half a pack of tissues and walked out of the cinema with the puffiest eyes everrrr.

As I've grown older, I've come to the understanding that sometimes they have to do the film a little differently to let the audience understand better with ease. So, I'm going to let it go. I actually said out loud,"What." When Harry jumps out of the crowd when Snape was asking everyone about Harry Potter and etc. I was like WTF hahahahah wasn't expecting that.

Overall, I'd say the film did some justice to the book and I'm thankful for that :) To be able to put my favourite fantasy book into motion picture, God knows how much I've spent imagining how scenes from the books are in real life and it's nice to watch it on the big screen.

This is not the end, like JK Rowling said, "So whether you come back by page or by the big screen, Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home.”
