Day 143/365 - Update after a while. Hehe

Okay, my tomorrow turned into 2 weeks later.... haha!  whoopsie...

Had a super impromptu/ spontaneous trip over to London with my madre for the last 10 days!  Turns out my dad had enough points on his card to exchange 2 business class return tickets for London that were gonna expire at the end of this month, so of course we HAD to go! :D

Also, I've never actually sat in Business class properly SO was super stoked about that! Plus, its the whole 180 degrees reclining seat so we had a full extra good sleeping experience. AND DENG IM JUST SO THANKFUL FOR THE EXPERIENCE. Don't know when I'll ever get to sit Business class again lol *jakun* But, the food was all yummy and man. SO MUCH PEPPERMINT TEA ON an airplane, I've never (i love peppermint tea). But it was a good experience, never been so refreshed after a 12 hour flight. Hahah OH AND they gave us pillows and a super fluffy duvet?! Like, Diana told me about that but I never expected them to really give us a duvet. So I was super sakai HAHA probably embarassed my mom. lolol

Since it was coinciding with Mother's day as well, I decided to plan a wee trip down to Italy for Momma since she's always wanted to go! Lucky for me, I managed to source out cheap ass ticket to Verona and so I planned a trip out for her :D I've been to Italy once with my super travel buddy Allisan in 2011, having spent 2.5 weeks in Milan, Verona, Pisa, Venice, Sienna, Bologna, Florence and Rome. So I assumed, it'll be nice to revisit some places. My mom's dream place has always been Venice. So, of course that had to be on the list! So our Italian adventures consisted of Verona, two nights in Venice and Bologna, since there were cheap flight out from Bologna to London!

I am so so 100 x thankful we had this trip, while it was quite challenging: Business class allows up up to 40kgs each for the luggage, we therefore had a lot of "space" so being women/girls, we HAD to fill up all the space.  Which meant loads of pulling and tugging and heavy lifting... HAHA. Loads of shopping and eating this trip, two of my ABSOLUTE favourite things as well as being able to catch up with some people I haven't seen in a while: Amilyn & Diana. So I was really really really REALLY happy to be able to have this trip. Also, haven't spent some alone alone time with my mumma in a while too, so UGH. SO HAPPY.

Anyway, I still have Jun's Easter Trip to cover and then I have to cover this spontaneous trip as well! So, expect loads of pictures coming your way soon! hehe

Apart from that, nothing much else has been happening LOL. Met up with Becky today, for tea and chatting so that was nice. ALSO, trimmed Scamp's fur. Took me a whole hour to cut off most of his body fur so now he doesn't resemble a sheep or a carpet anymore. He looks a whole lot younger and fresher! Mad happy, wish I had done it soon.

This weekend is gonna be ace. Spending it with my one and only Kalowee (Chloe lol) and I can't wait HEHE.

Also, my 5 week break here in Brunei (and turns out to the UK/Italy) as well, is nearly over. Will be heading back to KL on Monday so I am not quite looking forward to that. SO SAD TO LEAVE MY FURBABIES SOB. But Rosy's jioed me out for Maleficent on Wednesday (okay, I lied. I #thickfaced invited myself BUT SHE SAID YES) so I am looking forward to that, plus I haven't seen her (and the rest of them lovely KL peeps) in a whole month + so I have missed their faces quite a bit :)

Will update when I can!

Lots of love,
Amelia xo

Day 119/365 - Second day in Hatyai

Okay, here I am back reminiscing good times with #JunInSEA! Here's our second day in Hatyai. Woke up bright and early and headed out to the morning market to do tak bat. It was quite an experience, definitely a first in our book! A positive one of course.

We basically went through the morning market and tapaoed as much food as we could and brought it to a coffee shop where we sat, ordered drinks and ate to our hearts content. So good!

Our drink of the trip was most definitely Cha Yen (sweet thai ice milk tea) and ah, if I could have a whole jug with me at all times, that would be perfect.

We also did other touristy stuff (after taking a good shower and refreshing ourselves), like see elephants, visited some temples and the sorts!

And then we did more touristy things like visit a super large Thai Tesco and proceeded to buy lots of Thai products lol

Then we headed back to Kedah. refreshed ourselves and headed out to dins.

HAHAH MAN I MAKE IT SOUND SO UNHAPPENING. I just didn't manage to snap enough pictures unfortunately :( so wehh

Anyhoo, This will have to do.

I am actually so tired and my back has been giving me a whole lot of pain :( I don't quite know what to do. Sad.

I will try and attempt to sleep. The dogs, especially Pepper has been waking me up consistently throughout the night so I am hoping for good sleep tonight.

WISH ME LUCK YALL.

Lots of love

Day 115/365

Almost forgot to blog today, just been sitting around really missing Yat Jun. Then I got sleepy and then I realised I have not blog. lol. #LifeofAmelia

Anyway, onwards with #JunInSEA, our trip down to Hatyai, Thailand. For those who don't know, it's only a 2 hours car ride across the border from Kedah to Hatyai. We rented a van for the 8 of us!

When we reached, we did some touristy stuff and everyone sort of went to pray at various temples. It was so blistering hot I was pretty much a sweating machine.

It was actually so hot I couldn't open my eyes. This is not doing the sunny day any justice really. lol

And we had some really good food for lunch. Thai of course. Ugh, I was so bad with photos this trip. Didn't take any photos of the food at all. zzz

My mommy and I :D

The whole table. Missing Amilyn! haha

The love of my life.
Then we sort of checked out the markets.

IT WAS SO BLOODY HOT I COULDNT EVEN. lol We had coconut juice and mango rice (not pictured) to cool us down.

Hahah Here's jun feeding me mango rice. LOL
Can I just say how much I love Mango Sticky Rice? I feel as tho I could eat it all day long. ALL DAY ERR DAY MANGO STICKY RICE MAN.

Wow, this post is so shit, I am sorry haha. I am just so sleepy. and my nose is runny and UGH. So tired today.

Speaking of which, found out some excellent news today (no, not seeing Jun again -- SADLY. SOB.) but it won't be confirmed till another 10 days so fingers crossed! Will let y'all know when it is tho. :)

Also, missing le boyfriend EXTREMELY much today. I told my mom I missed him and all she said was, "it's not like you've not seen him in a long time. YOU ONLY SAW HIM LAST WEEK. siao"

Which I guess, is true but still does not mean anything! WHY CAN'T I MISS HIM even though I've only seen him last week? I miss him even when he's in the shower and he's gone for a max of 20 mins. #clingygirlfriend #overlyattachedgirlfriend I mean, I even miss him when he's asleep. lol

#dontjudgeme

Oki! love y'all,
Amelia

Day 114/365

So onwards with the journey with #JunInSEA. I want to say JunInMalaysia, but he wasn't only in Malaysia and to be fair, all countries are based in SEA. So why not. Haha

On the second day that Jun is over here, we had to make a road trip up to Kedah (where I was born) to meet up with my maternal side of the family (and my mother! It's her hometown).

Having been out the night before, and only getting sleep at around 4 in the morning... I was awake by 5AM and by 6AM we were both out of the house. *SO PROUD* We decided to get some food in our tums before starting our 6 hour journey on the road - a total of 423 KMs to be exact.

What's better than Roti telur at 6AM??? ?NOTHING. mwahahha
Anyway, it was really tiring driving for such long hours. It was definitely a first for me (driving- I mean). The longest I've ever driven was maybe for a good 2 hours. But 6 hours or even 3? Nah, never in my life. So soon enough, my hands started getting numb and I was getting uber sleepy. Even though Jun was lovely enough to stay up with me all the way and we were singing along to lots of The Script and the sorts.

Half way through, I realised I couldn't go on (so dramatic LOL), but really. We were already stopping at all the rest stops and I was getting sooo restless that Jun decided to step in! hehe B doesn't have a license yet but I guess the highway was just made of super straight roads so why not right. Here's some pictures of my love driving the car! wh00p wh00p.

I most definitely felt safe seeing as I fell asleep for about 100KM and only had to wake cause Jun didn't know where I had kept my Touch and Go card! Well done baby! :D

I had so much fun driving down with you, love. You're the best companion I could ever ask for! hehe and I am super happy you didn't succumb to the sleepy monster even though you were most probably jetlag as all hell  and tired from having so little sleep!

Anyway, we reached Kedah and was reunited with my mom's side of the family. So there was a whole reunion lunch thing and then we went to ching ming my grandparents and had lots and lots of food in between..

Here's us at a stall trying out Pasembur, mee jawa and had really nice roti telur bawang.
Then our parents sort of went home to chill out but I had to get some stuff done for my dad before I met him in Penang so Wei, Jun and I decided to go check out one of the techy malls. (LOL) and then we ended up wasting time in an arcade! IT WAS SO MUCH FUN! We must've spent about 2 hours there.

We stayed there until we had to meet the oldies for dinner, luckily it was just a walking distance away so we did that! That night, we had some really good nasi lemak. (K Nasi Lemak -- if you're wondering and ever wanting to try when you head down to Kedah) and some wanton mee. hehe

Overall it was such a lovely day. So busy from morning to night that I think we all had a really good sleep that night! I think it was quite overwhelming for Jun cause he actually met nearly 80% of my mom's side of the family and we both weren't quite expecting that! I thought it would just be a couple of them lol .

But I'm glad he got to meet them anyway :)

In the next blog post, I'll be touching bases on our 2D/1N journey to Hatyai!
----------------------------

Today marks our 29th month of being together!

This picture was taken exactly 1 year and 2 days ago!

Posted this quote on my Instagram today, but I think it's super app and therefore will post it here too:
"You don't need another human being to make your life complete, but let's be honest. Having your wounds kissed by someone who doesn't see them as disasters in your soul but cracks to put their love into has to be one of the most calming thing in this world."
And, it is. Thank you for pouring all your love in all my wounds, you've patched me up real well and you're always there to pour more when these wounds reappear. You calm me. So much.

I love you, desperately and completely.

Big chuchus,

Day 113/365

Seeing as how I am quite free right now, I'll attempt to blog about the best thing ever that has happened to me in 2014 so far! Of course I'm talking about when Jun came over to visit. :)

In case you're a new reader on this blog, here's a little history. My boyfriend Jun (his name is really Yat Jun, or sometimes I address him as B on my blog) came into my life late 2011. Better late than never because we've been together ever since and it's been just about the greatest thing in my life. Right now, he's still studying in the UK while I am over here in South-East Asia beginning life. Therefore: LDR happened. (LDR meaning Long distance relationship). This Easter, he popped over for his virgin visit to Malaysia for a whole amazing 3 weeks. While he was here, we also went to Hatyai, Thailand for an overnight trip as well as Singapore for a weekend. Also, I haven't seen him in person since August 2013 so it's been a good 7 months away from each other!

Just before I went to pick him up on the 28th of March 2014, I had all sorts of butterflies! I can't even begin to explain just how I was feeling. My tummy was twisted in all sorts of ways, I was pretty much on the verge of crying at the very thought of him walking out at the arrival hall (tbh, I did tear up several time).. it was crazy. I had my nails did that day too (first time trying out gelish! I'm totally hooked. hehe) and then proceeded to drive down to the airport. I was early by an hour and for that whole hour I couldn't keep my eyes off the gates!

Anyway, the minute he walked out. All these feelings man. Only the best feelings of course. :) I didn't take pictures cause I was all anxious about getting to him in case he thought I was late! hahahaa

This is our first picture taken together in 2014!

Brought Jun home and unpacked a little and let him refresh himself. He's just been on a journey for the past 20 hours (having a pretty long stopover in Amsterdam as well). He brought over a couple of  things for me and one of my favourite has got to be this ring (amongst other amazing things: like a WHOLE VICTORIAN SPONGE CAKE (i kid you not. This boy.)  as well as Lang Leav's Love & Misadventure - been dying to have a copy of this book. and other lovely lovely surprises):

Meant to be for Valentines! hehe
After that, I picked Justin and Ches up and together all three guys went for a haircut! Daryl also went for the haircut but unfortunately, he had dinner already so he didn't get to join us for Bah Kut Teh after wards!

Jun's first Malaysian meal! He had some rendang on the flight over to Msia but we're not going to count that right... lol

After dinner, Jun and I proceeded to the Beer Factory at Scott Garden to meet up with Aster, Eric, Swan and Gillian for some beer and banter!

Pretty much was a good night. We didn't get back till after 1 in the morning and it was pretty havoc since we had to pack our bags for a week in Kedah + Penang and we were leaving at 6am that morning too. All in all, we didn't get some shut eye till nearly 4 in the morning! haha

Will continue this tomorrow :) Typing this out and reliving all of this in my head makes me want to tear up cause I miss Jun too much. Only 4 days since I was last with him but it feels like FOREVER. (Exaggerating Amelia is obvs out to play lol) but #truetalk tho, Jun is one of my best friends and I am so blessed to have him as my boy friend. HE'S the sweetest and loveliest, I could never ask for more. :D

HAHAHA ok I'll stop.

On a whole other note, today was pretty relaxing. Brunei is so devastatingly hot! I think it's even hotter than KL. Is that even possible?! zzz

I'm still down with the flu and a terrible throat so I'm still on meds. Unfortunately, these medications are all non-drowsy so I've not been getting help in the sleeping department. Sienz. haha

Thanks for taking time to read, and I apologize if you were cringing at some point. SORREH. haha

Lots of love,
Amelia xo

Day 56/365

Hello everyone!

Today has been quite a nice day although there were tons of cars on the road today. More so than usual me thinks.

I will be blogging about Day 5 of my Switzerland trip today :D

Day 5 - We headed to the capital of Switzerland today. Many people mistake Geneva or even Zurich as the capital of Switzerland but nope -- the capital is a city called Bern/Berne.  Or, at least I did. I was so sure Zurich was the capital only to be told no. Bern is. He he he

We took about 3/4 hours on the coach to reach Bern and we stopped by a market to just catch a  glimpse of what their market place looked like. I adore European market places, so clean with all the varieties and friendly shopkeepers.

Have you seen so many variants of carrots ever? This was definitely my first time! My Fav were the short and fat carrots. TOO CUTE. Haha If i could adopt a carrot, I would have adopted one of those.

This is quite a weird one. Never seen something like it in my life. My dad was super curious about it and while he can't speak German, a very friendly passer by helped us to ask about it. Turns out it's meant to taste like artichoke and when washed super cleanly, we can eat it raw too! Nonetheless, safe to say we weren't brave enough to purchase some to try. I don't quite like the taste of artichoke anyway. haha

This is the Zytglogge clock! and also the start of the city's medieval old town. This clock had a proper cuckoo clock as well as an astronomical clock which is really quite cool, if you're into that kind of thing. It is also one of the biggest cuckoo clock around.

We took a walk down and found ourselves outside Einstein's Apartment! It has been refurbished into a cafe but how cool to think that Albert Einstein was walking where we stood once upon a time!  This is why I enjoy listening to historical tours/ explanation of some sort.  I always love imagining what life might have been like in the olden days.

What's the city of Bern without any bears? There was supposed to be a real brown bear around, but because it was cold, he/she was in hibernation therefore, mother and I took photos with the stationary one. HEHE

For lunch, I opted for sausages (SO GOOD) with an onion gracy and spaetzle! Spaetzle is basically one of my favourite forms of carbohydrates EVER. German potato noodles. That's what they are basically. But they're super Q and tasty and oh my days, taste amazing with just butter and a tiny bit of salt. I am pretty sure I could eat spaetzle all day if I could. I should probably learn how to make them.

We stopped by a Gruyere factory. A CHEESE FACTORY! You can probably imagine how it smelt like. Glorious cheese. That's exactly what it smelt like. :D hahaha I don't think my mom enjoyed that too much tbh.

We each got a packet of these. 6 months, 8 months and 10 months. They were delish. I could eat cheese all day long if given the chance and the opportunity to not pack on the weight. OH MY DAYS I JUST LOVE DAIRY OK. (T_T)

Look at them cheese. *love*

We also visited a Chocolate Factory/Nestle's Headquarters. It was an interactive experience and I really enjoyed myself. If you've been to the Heineken Experience in Amsterdam, it's not quite like that but equally enjoyable I think. They basically told us the history of Chocolate and where they came from and how they became popular, etc.

The machine that makes them chocolate! It was super cool to watch mass production of chocolates since we almost never get to see them in person.

These were the outcome from the machine above.

The best part of the Chocolate factory tour: FREE TASTING ROOM! hahahahaha Basically we tried every chocolate that they offered till we got sore throats. But they were tasty! Really enjoyed ourself but now we're all a little adverse to Chocolate hahaha.

We later made our way down to a spa town called Leukerbad. But that's for Day 6 and I'm just going to head to bed now and try and sleep. I've been getting quite restless sleeps these past few nights which will explain my tiredness in the morning but I really should do something about it :(

Lots of love
Amelia xoxox
