Shanghai Suzy Lipsticks

Herro everyone!

It has taken me 12 days into the new year to finally post my 1st make-up related post of 2015 and I'm happy to debut the newest members to my lipstick family!

Shanghai Suzy.

Contrary to the brand, these lippies come all the way from the land down under (i.e Australia lol) and not from China.... I was extremely blessed to have a dear friend bring them back to SEA for me! At the moment, if I am not wrong you can only get them in Australia so I am really really happy about them.

I bought 4 of them because there was a really good deal at that time whereby if you buy 3 you get 1 free so naturally, the aunty in me had to go for the deal. They only have a limited range of colours so it was really difficult to choose! And the really cute thing is each of these lipsticks are named after a girl! Also, they come in two formula: Nourish and Matte

Here are the ones I chose:
  • Miss Olivia - Apricot (Nourish)
  • Miss Christina - Neon Guava (Matte)
  • Miss Bree - Pink Blush (Matte)
  • Miss Mia - Foxy Hibiscus (Matte)
In terms of formula, their Nourish one is really nice, very moisturising albeit not super long-lasting. You can definitely wear it while forgoing that lipbalm beforehand. Their Matte formula is also decent, not SUPER drying and their lasting power is pretty on point.

How pretty are they?! Also, they have a new summer packaging out at the moment with translucent tops.. SO TEMPTING.

Here are the swatches on my hand. Mind you, this is only ONE swipe of the lipstick so you can see just how pigmented they are. I didn't really realise but ended up with 3 different shades of pink....... ha ha ha At least they're all pretty different from each other. (^_^)

And onto lip swatches:

Miss Olivia
Can I just mention just HOW much I have been obsessed with Miss Olivia, it is practically the only thing I wear these days especially since I'm very into apricot/peachy blushes at the moment. I'm down to half the stick so I'm fretting. Will have to retire it for a while because I'm afraid of finishing it. (And I wonder why I never finish a lipstick.......)

Miss Christina

Miss Bree

Miss Mia
Check them out at http://shanghaisuzy.com/. If you're living in Australia, then lucky you. Everyone else, you should really try and get your hands on these lipsticks. From a lipstick addict, I can assure you YOU WON'T REGRET IT! Their promo at the moment is the Shanghai Suzy Wardrobe which basically consists of all their 8 colours for only AUD65. Shoot. *Practices self-control*

Out of these 4 colours, which reaches out to you the most?
(To be completely honest, from the swatches Miss Mia catches my eye but Miss Olivia really is something. hehehehe)

Lots of love,
Amelia xo

Too Faced La Belle Carousel Makeup Collection

Praise the makeup gods above because I HAVE BEEN PRAYING FOR THIS TO HIT OUR MALAYSIAN SOIL ever since I saw it somewhere on the YouTube-verse. Obvs I was praying hard enough because this baby joined us in 1Malaysia this week. We are so lucky.

So what is this Too Faced La Belle Carousel? It's exactly what it's name is (pardon my French - I'm not very good at it. I did 1 year of it in Uni and failed miserably.) But, I think it means The Beautiful Carousel - and a beautiful carousel it is. Basically, it looks like a carousel once it's out of it's really pretty package (that opens up like a flower!)

How do you even say NO to this? Seriously. That glitter too.

This is what you get.
I mean, look how cute is this? Basically if you're all in that Christmas spirit and believe in the power of gifting, you can always give them separately to people you like (or don't like very much, cause if you liked them wouldn't you just get them ONE WHOLE SET?) lol. I suppose they make really good stocking fillers. This is precisely why I will a daughter in my life next time, so I can pop such pretty things into her stockings come Christmas! (hahaha TMI, you didn't need to know that)

I have swatched these babies and they are mega glittery, but totally wearable. Like, really really pretty colours. My favourite has got to be "Boxes & Bows" and "Haute Chocolate". It's nice that they included something green (the very creatively named "Christmas Tree") since I don't have much green makeup in my collection.

The blushes and bronzers. I've not gotten round to buying a Too Faced blush or bronzer mostly because they're always mega glittery. And these 3 (excluding Chocolate Soleil - so kind and thoughtful of them to include one matte bronzer) did not disappoint in the glitter department, I can confirm that. The colours are BEAUTIFUL. I can't wait to wear "Who's Your Poppy?". "Luminous Peach" from some angles look very rose gold-ish, which doesn't necessarily suit my skin tone but I guess I'll just have to rock it at some point.

Also, aren't we all just fans of anything MINI? Well, I have a full sized version of this which I already absolutely LOVE. So imagine all them happy feels in me when I saw this tiny mini version of Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. Mini Review: No, I cannot confirm if it is better than sex, but this mascara is pretty on point. Very VERY voluminizing, a wee bit clumpy but definitely lengthening and it's good pretty good staying power - comparable to Benefit's They're Real Mascara (which is one of my all time FAVS).

So, all in all, yes you're pretty damn right that I am HEAD OVER HEELS in love with this little collection. Is it worth your money? For RM165 at your local Sephora (it's limited edition so don't ponder over it for too long!) I think it's super worth it. You get, 4 eyeshadow quads - which is 12 eyeshadows.. , 2 blushes, 2 bronzers and a mini mascara!

Also, having it on your vanity will look sooooo pretty, and since the sections are all detachable, they'll make super awesome travel companions! Don't worry about the lid opening since it's all magnetized so it's all good ;)

Mad happy.

Have a lovely weekend everyone! I'm starting mine with a walk up Batu Caves tomorrow morning, and I have a really aching calf from all them crams. Sob.

lots of love,
Amelia x

Zoeva Rose Gold Luxury Set

Having been on the wait list for this item for the longest time, Luxola finally, FINALLY, restocked this beautiful item. I am a sucker for 1) BRUSHES 2) ROSE GOLD 3) BRUSHES?!??! Like actually, I think this is the last time I will ever buy brushes (ha ha - let's see in the next 3 months...) because I think I have enough brushes to last me for a while. Except maybe eye brushes, because for some reason I always ruin them first.

So anyway, when these babies got delivered I was over the moooon! I opened it up and ooh-ed and aah-ed because damnit! They are perfect *crazy googly love struck eyes emoticon* The brushes are soft, and lovely. Not that  I was surprised there since Zoeva's never actually disappointed me before. Affordable and of good quality. Will totally recommend their brushes to anybody and everybody. They're of German descent (haha wtf) and if you're living in the EU, you can just order off their site. Wish I came across them whilst I was still in the UK. I would probably have all their brushes now. Haha In comparison to Sigma (and don't even mention MAC), these brushes are godsent.

Without further ado, here's my little Zoeva Rose Gold Luxury Set:

Comes in a beautiful faux leather pouch.

Comes with 5 face brushes and 3 eye brushes:
  • 102 - Silk Finish (one of the best brushes I have used so far for liquid foundation. Flawless application always)
  • 106 - Powder
  • 110 - Face Shape (Perfect for contouring)
  • 127 - Luxe Sheer Cheek
  • 142 - Concealer Buffer (I use this also for blending out eye shadow. Works like a dream)
  • 227 - Soft Definer (MAC 217/Sigma E25 dupe)
  • 231 - Petit Crease
  • 317 - Wing Liner

Aren't they just absolutely gorgeous? I actually don't know when I'll ever use them. SO BEAUTIFUL I CANNOT EVEN. Like, I keep staring at them and I just cannot bring myself to use them. That said, I have duplicates of a couple of them in their normal silver ferrules so.. it's not that bad. Maybe I'll bust them out for a special occasion some day. I don't even wear foundation or BB cream on a daily basis anymore. Hahaha

Anyway, if you're looking to own one of these glorious sets.. they're currently sold out (SO GO BE ON THAT WAITLIST. You know you want to!)

But you can find them here for RM261.50.

Which, btw if you calculate it's only RM32.70 per brush so it's super affordable seeing as how one brush from MAC can easily set you back RM100++ for ONE brush. (Don't mind me. Just justifying the purchase to myself again) hehe

Lots of love

My M.A.C Army (as of 20th October 2014) + Swatches

I remember the first time I was captured by the M.A.C lipstick stands and the vast array of colours.. they were a sight to behold. To be honest, I'm still crazy awed by all the colours and variety of them lipsticks in M.A.C and my ultimate dream is to own every single one of them.. and the holder too. IMAGINE THEM IN MY ROOM ON MY NIGHTSTAND/VANITY. Damn son, it'll be so magical to wake up to them err'day.

Today I will be typing about my modest collection of M.A.C lippies.. and leg swatches (only because it is SO much easier to take photos of my leg rather than my arm.... since I don't actually have a model lol)

It took me ages to figure out if I should group them by colour, finish  or collection but I have decided that I will group them by colour. That way, I'll know which colour group I'm lacking in the most. Hehe

Don't they look like soldiers?
Cue: Destiny Child's Soldier song. LOL
Them REDS

 (L-R)

Amplified Roxo from the Pedro Lorenço Collection, Huggable Lip Colour in Red Necessity, Matte Ruby Woo, Lustre Cockney, Satin Sa La Vie

Swatches - With Flash (R-L as opposed to L-R as above)

Swatches - No Flash

Them PURPLES

(L-R)

Satin Rebel, Matte Heroine, Lustre Plumful, Lustre Pink Popcorn, Amplified Saint Germain

Fun Fact #1: Saint Germain was given to me by Allisan.. it's a super barbie pink and it makes me look tan!

Fun Fact #2: I have a Pure Heroine from the Lorde collection waiting for me somewhere cause Diana got one for me! :D So excited to try it out, it's meant to be an even deeper purple compared to Heroine. Also, I ADORE Lorde, so anything to do with her, I love already. Haha

Swatches - With Flash

Swatches - Without Flash

Them CORALS/ORANGES

 (L-R)

Cremesheen Crosswires, Amplified Vegas Volt, Lustre Dreaming Dahlia, Amplified Morange, Sheen Supreme Gotta Dash!

Fun Fact #3: Morange was the first ever bright lippie in my entire collection (including everything non-M.A.C as well) I remember wearing it a lot to University and being shy abt having a bright lip. Hehe.
Swatches - With Flash
Swatches - No Flash

Them PINKS

(L-R)

Cremesheen Lickable, Amplified Impassioned, Matte Candy Yum-Yum, Huggable Lip Colour in Love Beam, Viva Glam Nicki Satin, Lustre Flamingo

Fun Fact #4: Candy Yum-Yum was discontinued for a while but brought back when M.A.C allowed their consumers to choose which discontinued colour to bring back! :D This neon pink won and I had to have it hehe

Fun Fact #5: Yes that Viva Glam is for Nicki Minaj (who I am a huge fan of) and yes, I only bought it because it was Nicki Minaj. HAHA It's a pretty colour tho, I should really use it more often.

Swatches - With Flash

Swatches - Without Flash

Them NUDES

(L-R)

Cremesheen FanFare, Amplified Chatter Box, Lustre Patisserie, Cremesheen Creme Cup, Cremesheen Creme D'Nude

Fun Fact #6: Creme D'Nude is my FIRST ever M.A.C lipstick puchased and turns out to be the least suitable colour for me in my collection. Lol. I was conned cause the colour looked so good on a friend of mind, so I bought it but upon trying it on.. I've been asked if I am sick cause I look so pale. Lol

Swatches - With Flash
Swatches - No Flash
Hope you enjoyed this little inlook (???) into my modest collection of M.A.C Lipsticks. If you ask me, my favourite finish has to be Lustre. Only because it's mostly moisturizing and easy to apply. I also LOVE the Huggable Lip Colours but unfortunately I managed to grab only 2 colours out of the 6 (if I am not mistaken) and that will forever be on my "THINGS I REGRET" list.. #over

**********************************

On other personal news, I'll be back in Brunei and re-united with my fur babies in about.. 2 sleeps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  SUPER super SUPER excited I cannot even. Haven't seen them in about half a year, so that's always exciting. Hehe

Hope everyone is well and have a Happy Deepavali!

Lots of love,

3CE XXX, Kiss Woo, Pink Boom and Showtime

After months and months of lusting over Stylenanda's Instagram account.. when I knew I was flying to Hong Kong, I knew I HAD to visit their shop. Not for their clothes though, god knows just how impossible it would be for me to pull of their style (even though I would very much love) but more onto their make-up brand: 3CE/ 3 Concept Eyes. Don't ask me what meaning does the name "3 Concept Eyes" carry because I don't even know.. they don't only focus on Eye Products too, if you're confused by the name :P

I had already ONE item from 3CE which was their Lip Lacquer in Pink Boom, courtesy of the most amazing Allisan who bought it whilst she was in Korea. And I love it. I'll get more onto this later.

This time, I picked up 3 items. Two lipsticks, XXX and Kiss Woo, and one more lip lacquer called Showtime.
(L-R: XXX, Kiss Woo, Pink Boom, Showtime)
First off, can I just talk about how beautiful and simple their packaging is? The hot pink ones are a little new (if I am not mistaken) but I love it. They look and feel so sleek!

XXX and Kiss Woo
Before I go on, I know you will be wondering cause it was what Jun was wondering too when I picked these two colours: dafug Amelia, they're both the same shade! Yes, I will not deny that they look similar.. yes, they're both dark reds...........

But I've been looking for dark reds ever since Maleficent came out! I am actually really obsessed with the dark red lips look. SO NICE! and Vampish! (Not that I want to look like a vampire, but you get the gist) and really, they're both very different reds once worn on the lips!

Okay, let's talk about XXX first. It's a very nice brownish-red. And it is mega moisturizing! Much to my surprise since I have been hearing lots of negative reviews bout 3CE's lipsticks. It is probably due to the different colours and their different finishes. This one is definitely matte, but it's so creamy and such a dream to apply! I feel like it looks almost like blood since it's not super bright or blue-toned..

On the lips- without a lipliner. Also, this colour is super long-lasting hehe
Moving on to Kiss Woo, which is a move blue-toned red and also similar consistency in that it is not drying and a dream to apply! I also feel that in certain lightings it can look a little pinkish. Totally nice to wear on a date I feel! hehe

Ugh, love the packaging so much.
See what I mean when I say it is a little pinkish? :)
Here, you can see the difference! :D I really like both colours and feel they will complement different occassions/outfits!
L - XXX, R- Kiss Woo.
Moving on to their lip lacquers.. now, I don't quite know how to explain the consistency of these. They apply like a gloss, but they dry matte and stain your lips quite well. It's lovely to wear when you don't want to re-apply too many times. I LOVE THEM. I admit they can be a tad drying.. but pop a lip balm on after they've dried down and you really shouldn't have a problem with them!

Left- Showtime, Right - Pink Boom

Didn't take individual shots of the lip lacquers cause.. I didn't quite know how to.. LOL But here are them on my lips:

Showtime is a really really bright coral colour, nothing like I've ever experienced! One coat is enough to cover your entire lips and these colours are mega opaque as well! And it really does brighten my face when I wear it I feel. :P

Pink Boom is a really bright fuchsia. Which is great to jazz up any outfits. I've always felt that fuchsia's really my kind of colour, purplish, pinkish and oh-so-pretty :D hehe

And a swatch of all 4 colours on my arm side-by-side:

Overall, I am really really happy to be able to add these lovely lip products to my collection! Right now, Stylenanda only has shops in Korea (obviously) and Hong Kong and while I am hoping they will branch out to SEA soon.. (KL FIRST PLEASE), if you're interested in trying them out yourself, sites like LUXOLA and HERMO has them albeit priced a little higher than what I bought them for.

Have YOU tried any other 3CE products? If you have, and have a favourite please let me know in the comments below! I also bought their full cover concealer, but have yet to try it out yet and I'm excited!

I hope you've enjoyed this post. First time ever taking pictures of my lips (not the best looking ones out there I'm afraid. Really fat uneven bottom lips but a girl's gotta work with what she has! hehe). I'll hopefully do more lip product review's in the coming future cause it where my heart is really set in.

Lots of love, and hope y'all having a great weekend,
Amelia xox
