Number76 - UltraSonic Premium Hair Treatment

Now, talk about destress-ing after a hectic start in to the new year! Also, totally appropriate timing because err'body needs to ring in the new year with new hair... 

Managed to get an appointment with Amy who is the Style Director as well as the Branch Manager for Number76 Bangsar 2. It was my first time visiting the Bangsar 2 branch as I had previously been to the 1st branch in Bangsar. It's a real pretty saloon though, very rustic and comfortable. I especially appreciated the wooden floors, gave such a nice old school vibe to it. 

Now, Amy's great. In case you haven't seen her IG Feed (Which is all kinds of pretty), check her out @76amy. She makes me wish I still had my long hair because she can really do magic on hair. Damn. #FirstRegretof2015

So I told Amy I needed a trim, because my bob (?) was getting really heavy and I've been trying to grow my hair out again so definitely didn't want to miss out on length and she gave me a really good trim, taking half the weight of my hair away. And the length is still there but I'm just feeling so much lighter and my time in the morning spent curling my damn hair has been cut into half! :D MAD HAPPY. 

The most exciting thing for me was to try out Number76 Signature Hair Treatment which is the Ultrasonic Premium! Sounds really cool right? (Esp the Ultrasonic, don't lie!)

Here's a short description: 

So after getting my hair washed, which was all very nice, I was seated and before I could open my mouth to ask (Only because the plates were red and it looked hot and my hair was wet... so you know the equation: Wet Hair + Hot Iron = not a desirable look at all), I was given a whole run down on what this treatment entails and how the plates were actually not hot at all. Actually, I touched it and yeah, not hot at all.

 

It turns blue when it the plates  are pressed together and you can see in the video below that it's basically vibrating (WATCH THE WATER DROPLETS). And I was told that the more damaged your hair is, the more harder it vibrates. Amy told me that it was vibrating prettttttty hard on my ends (cause it was majorly split).

Apparently, the iron has an enhanced effect on all chemicals such as hair color, perm lotion and hair treatment that are applied to your hair. There are 3 parts to this treatment: 

1st Treatment: Made up of Collagen, protein, vitamins that your hair really needs. After which, they will use this Ultrasonic Iron to lock in all the goodness in your hair as it vibrates, so it helps to penetrate all that nourishing goodness into your hair all down to the molecules! 

2nd Treatment: Focus on split ends and mosturising your hair.

After which, you go for a rinse and back for the 3rd Treatment which is basically collagen. 

(Collagen is freaking important la hor) 

I was told that this treatment is better for high damaged hair. i.e hair that's been through hella lots.. like the bleaching process.. or all that straightening and perming. It can also help with friziness to a certain extent.

And I've washed my hair twice since the treatment and IT STILL BE LOOKING FABULOUS! Got plenty of compliments lo, about how soft my hair looks and FEELS (yes, I've been asking people to touch my hair, yes, I am creepy that way and yes, people do go ... oh wow.. your hair...)

With this, the results will most likely last for a month or two, and even after that, my hair will still be in better condition than it was ever before :D

I've only been working in my office for the past 1.5 months and already people know that I absolutely love Hello Kitty. I mean, what's there NOT to love? She's adorable, she's super cute and she manages to looks great in any outift/getup!

I'm sure y'all have been noticing big banners around town at all them Shell Petrol Stations but recently, Hello Kitty has done a wee collaboration with Tokidoki and have come up with 10 SUPER CUTE Hello Kitty x Tokidoki figurines! Thank you Shell Select for bringing in these super adorable babies! 

Which is your favourite? I think Mini Cactus Kitty is the most adorable hehe

Fun times with Kiehl's in the Sun!

Hey guys! Been real busy with life at the moment, having started a new job earlier this week and just really getting back into the grind and 5.30 mornings! 

Anyway, remember my little post on Kiehl's a little while back?  Well, I won invites to their awesome event and I am so glad that I was given the opportunity to! 

The event was held two Sundays back at the Secret Garden on top of 1Utama! I've never been there so it was quite the adventure for me. Since the event was appropriately titled "Fun In The Sun with Kiehl's" of course we had a lovely sun-filled day on top of the 1Utama rooftop. 

We were first greeted with Mr Bones, whom you can find right outside the Kiehl's store in 1Utama, and we were given sharpies to sign our name on him! If you happen to go by the store next time, try and see if you can spot my name! :D hehe

We were greeted with a lovely buffet spread as well as Kiehleans (I don't quite know what to call the representatives from Kiehl's! hehe) who were there to give us some advice on our skin and performed an oil test! Interestingly enough, I was touted as normal skin with just a teeny bit of oiliness on my T-zone area! Which is interesting, considering I've always imagined myself to be an oily combination gal! 

Note to everyone: You can also head to any of your friendly Kiehl's store to get your oil check on! Just simply inquire! :D 

How pretty is this set-up? I wanna get married in a garden some day so I can have a spread like this too. Actually, maybe.. if it wasn't 36 degrees out there. Haha!

We were served super cool blue solution for drinks! hahahah

We were also a little 101 on their newly formulated Ultra Facial Oil-Free products which included their face wash, toner and moisturizer (gel cream) and I think it's really cool that they've used desert plants A.K.A cacti (I think they're the same thing?) since you know, we need all the secrets they know for keeping in tip-top conditions in them crazy desert weather.. and I love that there is no oil in their formula (as well as scent, but I'll get onto that in a sec.) 

Since one of their key ingredients is desert plants, we had a lovely cactus terrarium session where we got to make our own!

Was super happy with my terrarium and so glad I got to make one! Can you see the little crane sitting in my bowl? I named him Jimmy! Hehe. Also, we were told to feed them about 2 teaspoons of water every 10 days to 2 weeks. Cacti are really low maintenance so it's really good for people without green fingers like me! 

We were then given time to hang about and chit-chat to people around us which was great! It's nice to come to these sort of events cause you meet people with the same interest as you, which, in my case is make-up/skincare/beauty.. so it was definitely nice. There was also a nice backdrop where we could take pictures at.

All in all, it was such a great event with a whole load of knowledge on how, just because you have oily skin, it doesn't mean you should have to strip it off all it's oil cause that'll only make matters worse! 

I would like to thank Kiehl's Malaysia and The Butterfly Project Team for putting together such an awesome event! It was my first event and I'm already looking forward to many more in the future! *big love*

We were also given a complete set of their Ultra Facial Oil-Free skincare to try! I was really stoked to receive them products because I am really always on the hunt for something better for my skin!

So far, I have been using these products for a week or so and I must say, I really really like the range!

 

I really enjoy their Ultra Facial Oil-Free Cleanser because it foams up really nicely as well as leaves you with a nice squeaky finish. Usually, you'll relate a squeaky finish with a dry tight feeling right? Well, I'm pleased to let you know that this doesn't give you that "tight" feeling at all! Everytime I wash my face, I just feel SUPER clean and refreshed, which I suppose is what you should be feeling! :D

The Ultra Facial Oil-Free Toner, while comes in a blue bottle, comes out as a transparent liquid which you put onto a cotton pad and swipe it all over your face, this just reduces all the excess oil on your skin's surface and also  leaves a really fresh feeling. While unscented, I can smell something, just not sure what it is.. but it's definitely very unoffensive so I am also liking this product a whole lot! I really like toners because I feel like they always give that extra uumph to your skincare routine! 

Now, this. The Ultra Facial Oil-Free Gel Cream is what I've REALLY been enjoying! Formulate for normal to oily skin types (which is exactly what I have), it comes in a LOVELY (and I mean, really really nice) texture that is immediately soaked up by your skin! It's definitely unscented and you can just tell your face is soaking up all that moisturizing goodness! It's also extremely light, so no worries about wearing it under your make-up daily. 

Here's how the gel looks like inside, doesn't it just look super soft and dreamy.. like something you wanna rub into your skin to provide it with all the goodness of it? I feel like this is definitely something I would like to incorporate more into my daily skincare routine, and something that I will definitely repurchase once it runs out! 

Also, if you didn't know, Kiehl's is about handing out samples so that you can try. Head down to your nearest Kiehl's store and ask for a sample and they'll gladly give you some so you can get a first-hand experience of the product!

Day 120/365 - extra bits and bobs and Namu's Snail White MAGIC CREAM lol

Didn't get to post these pictures up yesterday cause for some reason I was missing a whole chunk of pictures and i couldn't find them and I went to sleep sad but I FOUND THEM TODAY lol

Mango sticky rice ice-cream from DQ Thailand. Super legit! There really was sticky rice on top of our ice cream. LOL

 Okay, now this. I have to talk about. I've been seeing this Namu Snail White thing EVERYWHERE on social media. Blogs, Instagram, Facebook.. been getting spammed about this since they're sponsoring lots of bloggers with this product. So yeah, fell into it. PLUS I SUPER LOVE THE PACKAGING? (TBH, I should totes do a seperate post on this but too lazy lol) I don't mean the box the product came in but the actual container.

Anyway, in Malaysia, they're selling one for RM150. Which I think is a little bit pricey and I wasn't willing to spend that much money on some snail secretions thing that I wasn't sure was going to work either. Plus, it's super vague.They say it's ok for oily skin ok for dry skin ok for acne prone skin.. HAI MM HAI AH??? Like magic cream like that wor. ALSO, they're charging and extra RM10 for postage and an extra RM8 if you live in East Malaysia. Like WTF man.

So this is what the snail cream promises.

So I was in Thailand right and I saw it in Watsons (or Guardian... don't remember) and guess how much they were selling for? Only 990Baht which is equivalent to RM100! That's RM50 cheaper than what Snail White Malaysia was offering. So I went ahead and got myself a bottle (and my mom too)

I've been using it religiously at night (cause I am still wary about the whole oil controlling aspect of this as I am super super sked about having an oily face in the day time) and to be completely fair, I really like this product! It comes out a little slimy ish but it gets absorbed into the skin really easily. All I need is just a pump of the product (very little - the size of a 10 sen coin maybe) and pat it into my skin!The smell is super unoffensive at well. There's just a hint of smell that i can't put my hands on but it's decent!

I don't know if it's the combination of all my other products - I'll do a post on this soon but I notice a big difference in the lightening of my pimple scars. I don't get pimples very often but when I do they're a monster sized one and usually end us with a big black scar on my face. But they all have been lightening up!

Would I repurchase? Yes. But, not from Malaysia. I think it's daylight robbery to be paying an extra RM50 just because it's been brought in to Malaysia. To be completely fair, I am pretty sure they get it SO much cheaper when they get it in bulk so hopefully I have friends who are going to Thailand or I'll get to go there myself and buy a couple of bottles. It does well as a night moisturizer which is something I've been looking for since my day moisturizer has SPF and we all know we're not meant to use SPF at night to bed.

Okay, that was quite ranty- I apologize. Just got excited when I saw the picture again. HAHA

Woe is me. I GET EXCITED OVER SKINCARE (T_T) It's so bad.
